In the icy wastes of Greenland, a Republique of France advance force has been engaged by a Federated States of America scouting party that has enlisted the aid of Vladimir Nikonov and the dreaded Black Wolf submersible. Although the meeting was a surprise to both Fleets, the FSA seized the initiative; firing wave upon wave of rockets at the oncoming French vessels. As the fighting intensified and the battle lines closed, Nikonov ordered the Black Wolf to submerge, and activated its advanced Echo Generator.

Unwilling to retreat, Commodore Sébastian Villiers ordered all ships under his command to converge on the American Independence Class Battleship, creating the perfect chance for the Black Wolf to wreak havoc. The Epaulards, unable to lock onto the signal of the mercenary submersible, engaged their target, but were unable to destroy anything more than an Echo, allowing Nikonov the chance to surface and take aim at a Toulon Class Armoured Cruiser.

With no evasive action available, the Toulon is smashed backwards into the Chevalier Destroyer behind it, rending their hulls and damaging both vessels.

Dropping back beneath the waves, Nikonov must now decide whether his deal with the Americans is lucrative enough to consider taking on the Battle Carrier of Villiers, or should he drift even deeper into the darkness of the icy waters and vanish…

Side Note: The Echo Generator was developed by a Russian advanced research team headed by Yuri Spitzkofp; physicist and designer of some of the most advanced vessels to enter into the service of the Navy of the Russian Coalition.
