In Your Face!

The Dystopian Wars Gunships are a demonstration of military might suited to each nations particular style of warfare. Each is a deadly machine of war in their own right, but in subtly different fashions. But at their heart is one simple tactic: head on assault. Hence the title of this blog…

Dystopian Wars - All Gunships
Designing these was an interesting process as we had to go back to rules to give these ships the flavour we felt they needed. Rather than just up-gunned cruisers these vessels each have a distinct style of warfare that fills a niche for each fleet.

Empire of the Blazing Sun - Tanuki Class Gunship
The Blazing Sun Tanuki Class Gunship has the firepower and flexibility that many of the Empress’ ships lack, her main turret can deal out damage all round while the fore torpedoes cut into the enemy lines. All the while rockets will be falling from the skies in fiery destruction.

Federated States of America - Princeton Class Gunship
The FSA, however, have developed a different role for their Gunship, the Princeton class is an artillery emplacement on the water, its large turret reigning death and destruction from afar along with a healthy dose of rockets to boot. It does, however, have the speed to outmanoeuvre the enemy and reposition as it needs to.

Prussian Empire - Hussar Class Gunship
The Prussian Hussar’s role is as obtuse as the Prussian aesthetic, and with two fore mounted turrets and an internal Tesla Generator, it is a ship to be feared from near or afar. Deadly on approach and even deadly within your ranks the Hussar may lack the compliment of assault marines other Prussian ships are known for, but it is by no means a ship to be ignored. Better to sink it fast.

Kingdom of Britannia - Agincourt Class Gunship
The British Agincourt class Gunship is the cavalry of the sea, designed to flank in firing its turret and torpedoes into the fray and as it swings past the deadly 180 degree torpedo turret unleashed further death and mayhem as the Agincourt continues on to harass the rest of the enemy fleet.

Covenant of Antarctica - Zeno Class Armoured Cruiser
Last, but by no means least, is the Zeno Armoured Cruiser. The Covenant of Antarctica have forgone the more traditional designation for a heavy hulled monster that has a fearful broadside to unleash and a host of mines to litter the waves with. The Zeno has forgone the flexibility of turrets for one of the Covenant’s most powerful experimental weapons; the Particle Accelerator.
