Home > Uncharted Seas >Imperial Humans |
These families of power offer up a representatives to the Imperial Council every five years, normally voted for by the senior nobles of each family, but corruption is widespread and voting is commonly influenced by gold or the sharp end of a dagger. In the Old World, an Overlord is then elected and this leader wielded the full might of the Imperial City. With the expansion into The Uncharted Seas the Imperial Council now has its sights set on a place to grow its power base even more, with new races to destroy and resources to plunder. Most of the Imperial Navy fleets in this region of expansion are commanded by the Arkos, Tepes and Corvinus families. Large fleets from these three houses have sallied forth to claim new territories: the Arkos looking to establish new trade routes, the Corvinus seek out new mysteries, and the Tepes hope to carve out a kingdom of their own to strengthen their position in the Old World. The House Váka do not have the resources to build many ships, and have so far only settled the land mass of Kalath. The fleets of the Dragutin are under order to defend the waters of Armidia, and have been bloodied in actions against the Thaniras Elves and the Orc Raiders. The greatest test of the Dragutin so far has been against an incursion by a Dragon Lord fleet from Traal. The Dragon Lord fleet sailed round the island that lies between Karneia and Armidia, sinking several merchant vessels before encountering a Dragutin fleet. The humans launched a swift attack and sank two frigates, but they were outnumbered and lost seven out of eight capital ships before they were forced to retreat. FIRST CONTACT The Humans of the Old World are not used to losing battles and this first failure in The Uncharted Seas was taken badly by the Overlord. The commanders of the human forces now looks to recover from this embarrassment, the House Tepes in particular was damaged at court by the losses. But it is not just the Dragon Lords that anger the humans. As they expand across the Broad Blue so ANY race that stands in its way becomes an enemy of the Imperial Council. RULE BOOK ERRATA |
