The Kedorians had developed a vigorous and dynamic society long before humans entered the Outer Reach. Debate and political manipulation were fundamental to their culture, and before the humans of the Reach ever thought of seeking independence from Terra, the Kedorians were planning for just that eventuality. When the Dindrenzi Federation was born the Kedorians had already established a power bloc within the Devonian Systems, bringing several smaller alien civilisations under the aegis of the Kedorian Coalition.

The Coalition negotiated vigorously for their status within the Dindrenzi Legislature, using the weight of its many member planets rich in resources and economic power. Despite their xenophobic tendencies the Dindrenzi had little choice but to grant the Kedorians the power they requested. In exchange, the Coalition pledged the full use of its resources to the Dindrenzi cause. The Kedorians are always seeking to expand their power base in the Legislature, often within the other alien factions. Most friction occurs between the Kedorian Coalition and the Rense System delegation and their foils, the Illosians.

The political success of the Kedorians was in no small part due to their appearance. Many Coalition races appear quiet odd, such as the Marrians: large, 2 metre columns of flesh with a fringe of six eye-stalks radiating from the top. The Kedorians, however, look nearly human. They are taller than average, long and thin in limbs and fingers. Their facial features appear vaguely regal to most humans due to a long straight nose and high brow ridge. Two sets of vestigial eyes are nearly hidden in deep creases in their brows, and they are completely hairless. Most wear a variety of hats and head-dresses to indicate rank and social status.

Much of the power of the Kedorian Coalition stems from the Naval Docks at Kelson and Shugresh. Although these bases border on the rival systems of Thorsen and Babbage, they were originally Kedorian, and base administration and operation is still maintained by the Coalition. Most fleet construction is reserved for Kedorian vessels. The Coalition maintains one of the most extensive armadas outside of the Dindrenzi Fleet itself. However, both bases do serve as staging areas for the other local systems at the direction of Dindrenzi Fleet Command.

Kedorian ship design revolves around defence, featuring heavily armoured hulls with speeds slightly below similar-classed vessels but with far more manoeuvrability. Armed with powerful batteries that bear on all arcs, most Kedorian ships are ideal for system security, where the longer threat range of their assault launch tubes can more easily be brought to bear. The one true powerhouse Kedorian ship-class, however, is their Dai-shu Leviathan, whose awesome size and seemingly unnumbered incorporated wings make it an ideal command vessel for system defence or assault.

Most of the peoples of the Kedorian Coalition are apathetic to the current war effort. Shielded by the political acumen of the Kedorians they do not follow the news of the invasion and pay little attention to the venomous propaganda put forth by the Rense. However, the Kedorians see this conflict as an opportunity to expand their influence within the Legislature, and so support the war effort however they can, being quick to sign onto the Zenian League. Many Kedorian ships have been deployed with Dindrenzi war fleets as well as Support Fleets behind the lines.
